A kenning is a micro-poem where you replace a common thing with a short poetic description.  

Examples of Kennings:

  • "pale orb" = moon
  • "winter's blanket" = snow

Kennings are often just 2 words, but they can be longer. 

Contest: propose the best kenning for a jigsaw puzzle.
How To Enter: Submit your entry by Thursday November 30th, 2023. Your entry constitutes permission to share your answer online. 
Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes of gift cards worth $100, $50, and $25 will be given. 
Details: You can enter as many times as you want. No purchase necessary. Further restrictions may apply. 
Entries don't need to be by you, that is if you discover Robert Frost has a great kenning for jigsaw puzzles you can submit that, but if you are quoting someone else, include who and what you are quoting from.
