Artifact Puzzles is an artisanal wooden jigsaw puzzle company that designs, makes, and sells artsy wooden jigsaw puzzles for adults, made in USA.
Founded in 2009 as an experiment in the economics of micro-manufacturing, our puzzles are manufactured in:
- Port Townsend, Washington, about 2 hours west of Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula, since 2021
- Fremont, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, until 2022
Our puzzle artists design a unique puzzle for every image, each design inspired by that image, to add charm and challenge to the puzzle experience.
We offer two lines of puzzles. Our standard line has bright glossy prints that are maximally cheery, and reveal the unique puzzle designs. Our Ecru line of puzzles has matte prints that reduce glare, and closer-cut pieces that do not highlight the puzzle design as well, but better display the puzzle's image.
Our puzzles span a diverse collection of art that literally puts you in touch with past, present, and imagined civilizations.
We use environmentally-friendly plywood and soy-based inks.
