For example, check out this guy in a chair with balloons - it precisely illustrates a specific metaphor from public speaking/linguistics, but apparently that metaphor is too obscure, so people have written in with their 5 other metaphors that guy is illustrating that also seemed legit!

Admittedly, last we checked, no one had actually guessed the intended metaphor in that case :).
But over 99% of the metaphors we illustrated have been identified by someone! Nice job you brilliant people!
Here's another one - the fishing pole was intended to be illustrating a very specific modern metaphor, but we had to add a few more great metaphors that it caused people to think of (which do now also score):
Scoring your metaphors just feels good :), but also we'll be giving out a $100 gift card to whoever has scored the most metaphors by 5pm EST on Feb 1, and again at 5pm EST on March 1 (so you have 40 days and 40 nights...)
Congrats to our first Metaphor Master Savanah Starkey, who found the most metaphors by the Jan 1 deadline! (She is now out of the running).
After March 1, we will release a full list to the top scorers, but aren't sure if we should include a full list with the puzzle in the future, or just let people continue to score their guesses on our website. Add a comment to this blog post if you have an opinion :).
