This is a dramatic 539 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of "Wild Things" by Jethro Buck. We'd be lion if we said this puzzle wasn't fantastic.

Jethro Buck is a contemporary British painter trained in traditional Indian and Persian miniature painting techniques, and this finely-detailed image has a mix of both modern and ancient imagery in the Indian miniature style.

The innovative puzzle design by Jef Bambas has a straight edge and includes animal whimsies and large connectorless sections. That is, about half of the pieces have connectors, and those pieces form mini-frames, and then the other half of the pieces do not have connectors (straight edges on all sides), so putting them in is a little bit like tangrams with images.  This makes the puzzle a lot harder than normal puzzles.

You can read reviews for our smaller similar connectorless puzzles like Egon Schiele's Four Trees and the Van Os Flowers

Like all our puzzles, made with 1/4" thick wood and the pieces are laser-cut. Packaged in our 3" pine wood box. Made in the USA (specifically, in Fremont, California).

Review: This puzzle is both dazzling and challenging. Although it is is primarily gold, the stunning images made it delightful to put together. I do not have a steady hand for the connector-less pieces but found a way around it, I put together all the pieces with connectors first, thereby creating a frame for the connector less pieces. By assembling it in this order, there was also an unexpected image. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Review: One of the Very Best! I loved the variety of puzzle challenges, and unlike some other puzzlers, I liked the connectorless parts the most. Without looking at the picture, it was quite challenging, but a joy to discover how to put it together. When it is assembled, be sure to turn it over if you can to admire all of the imagery in the cuts.

Review: A beautiful image with many enchanting little images throughout. Lots of detail, charming animal whimsies, superb artistry. When finished, you’ll want to examine the puzzle closely as there is at least one surprise image in the cut. As others have mentioned, the large masses of connectorless pieces can become frustrating and annoying. Connectorless is OK on a small puzzle, but on one of 539 pieces, maybe not. However, it definitely ups the challenge and take note, the frustration evaporated and was all forgotten upon completion as I was dazzled by the resulting beauty. Go for it, especially if you like a challenge.

Review: I really enjoyed this puzzle. However, I like puzzles in push-fit style. The push-fit parts result in multi-part whimsies. In general, I liked the themed whimsies. And the picture is beautiful and very interesting, which in my opinion is much better when put together than on the cover, it has so many small details. I would definitely do the puzzle again or recommend it.
