This is a unique 333 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of "Kyoto Four Scenes" by Ochiai Rofu.

Ecru Puzzles are beautiful with a matte image for reduced glare.

The unique puzzle design by Chandler Millwood is based on Japanese joinery, with pieces that lock together to form a frame, and some individual connectorless pieces that form windows onto the beautiful scene.

The puzzle has themed Japanese whimsies.

The puzzle consists of four separate panels, each with a straight edge.

Overall, the puzzle is a bit harder than average.

Like all our puzzles, made with 1/4" thick wood and the pieces are laser-cut. Packaged in our standard pine wood box. Made in USA.

4 panels, each 11.75" by 4"

Manufacturer recommended age: 15 years and up

Review: I have put together scores of Liberty puzzles. They are well made and most are beautiful images. Where Liberty falls down is puzzle design. Liberty never credits their designers. One almost wonders if one person designed every single Liberty puzzle. Of course, that would be impossible. There are too many Liberty puzzles. But after a while Liberty puzzles do get boring. They are all designed kind of alike. Not so Artifact puzzles. So many Artifact designers bring so many different styles and designs. Mini-hexagons, T-shaped connectors, connectorless, split tendril connectors, mathematical/geometrical tessellations, variations on two piece shapes, super fancy piece shapes, pentagonal pieces with non-unique connectors, and on and on. This never gets boring. Perhaps my favorite Artifact puzzle is Ochiai Rofu's Kyoto - Four Scenes (Four Seasons?). The title of this review should be "Chandler Millwood and the One Hundred Chiclets". Yes. One hundred, really. I counted. I have never seen another puzzle like it. Fascinating. I have four favorite Artifact designers. I will not tell you who the other three are because we are all different. You should find your own favorites.

Review: This was a tricky puzzle, because of the muted tones and similar shaped pieces. All the “tiles” are almost the same size so COULD fit anywhere but the color determines where they really should go making it challenging. Do in high light! The four panels don’t necessarily “go” together so you can work on them in any order. Once you get the hang of the edges, it is fairly easy to complete. Overall a pleasant but challenging puzzle.

Review: I enjoyed this - a tesselation with 5-6 piece shapes that could mostly be rotated. Nice job, Ecru.
