Ecru Puzzles - Mystery Puzzle #9

Ecru Puzzles - Mystery Puzzle #9

$ 53.00

For serious jigsaw puzzlers only: this 223 piece mystery wooden jigsaw puzzle does not come with a picture on the box (though the image is hidden inside the box in case you need to sneak a peek, or want to label the puzzle box afterwards.)

The image is vintage Halloween art re-purposed by Jennifer L. Carson, and while the image is not targeted at kids, it should be okay-for-kids, but is more just spooky in a vintage and Hitchcock-ian way than a kid-way.

The puzzle design by Jef Bambas has many Halloween-themed whimsies, and it is average hard.  Our Ecru Puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare.  Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4" thick laser-cut wood and made in the USA. Packaged in our standard blue box with a magnetic clasp.

12.5" by 8.75"

Review: This puzzle’s cut is just brilliant and quite tricky - the sample shown does not reveal it. I would love to see more puzzles using it. I had so much fun putting this one together; having to rework those non-unique pieces only increased the pleasure.

Review: The snapshot of the single sample piece peaked my interest. Vintage, Spooky Hitchcock in the description sold me. I saved this one to build on Halloween...with the Full Moon--Blue Moon that was in the night sky on 10/31/2020. The clever cut of the puzzle pieces, put a smile on my face the moment I opened the blue magnetic box. WOW!!!! This puzzle was the best Treat! One really has to pay attention to puzzle piece placement. I had to put it in reverse several times in order to move forward properly. Now that was a Trick! One side of the edge was so creative. Another finely planned attention to detail. I will not wait until next Halloween to rebuild this excellent puzzle. Next time there is an all out thunder and lightening storm, this one will be pulled from my collection for a spookily charming rebuild. A

Review: Was given this puzzle as a Christmas gift. Two of my daughters and I lit into it the same day. Very clever with the puzzle pieces in the shapes of bats, Halloween cats, pumpkins, ghosts, etc. It took us an exhilarating 2.25 hours to complete without the aid of even a peek at the picture. Very fun. If you're a puzzle enthusiasts this one will not disappoint.

Review: Not normally a puzzler person, but we received this for a gift and had a blast putting it together. Whimsical piece shapes added to the enjoyment. And since it was our first, the size was perfect. First timers, do this one first!

Review: Drove us "batty", but this was a great puzzle. We did not look at the picture first, and it took two people nearly four hours to do it with a couple of short breaks. You might actually be able to complete it faster on your own, having two people was not a real advantage. You can put several pieces together that look correct at first glance but later you can tell you made a mistake. Great artwork, really great whimsy pieces, we were very impressed with this puzzle.The picture is from the art deco age if I had to guess, and was probably a Halloween postcard at one time. It measures about 12"x9" when completed. Like almost all Artifact puzzle, I wish the overall dimensions and piece size were just a bit bigger. The cost of wood is not that much, I would have loved to see this puzzle and its pieces at least 10% bigger.
