Artifact Puzzles - Daniel Merriam Flight of Scarlet Limited Edition Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle

$ 84.00

This 364 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle is a numbered limited edition puzzle of 2000 (number out of 2000 is engraved on the inside lid) of one of Daniel Merriam's most beloved images. The puzzle pieces have an art nouveau-style designed specially for this image by puzzle artist Tara Flannery, with just one figural piece in the shape of a cat. This puzzle has a straight edge, but is challenging to solve. Like all our puzzles, the pieces are laser-cut from 1/4" thick wood. Packaged in our standard unfinished pine wood box. Made in USA.

    Review: Finally got to work this after a puzzle swap from my sister to whom I had gifted it when it first came out. She gave me some warnings way back then but I’d forgotten. Wow is this one ever crazy hard - in all the ways that delight. The artwork and the cut make this one a teaser all the way to the last piece

    Review: The Flight of Scarlet is a beautiful picture and it makes a fantastic puzzle. The artistic design and cut of the irregularly shaped pieces made working it so much fun! I love the whimsies which include a cat, butterflies, and a special one (telling would ruin the surprise) in the center of the puzzle. All of that red made hunting for the correct piece a bit of a challenge. The pattern formed within the puzzle is like none I've seen before...really creative! The border is a regular straight edge with rounded corners, which sounds really simple, but forming some of it was a bit tricky. I absolutely love all aspects of this puzzle. Working it was just delightful!
