Review: Let me tell you: wow, wow, wow!!! This "little travel size" guy is packed with 152 pieces, which makes the experience of doing this puzzle close to a Swiss watch precise work. The intricacy of the cut is absolutely delightful: it features a regular row of edge pieces that act like an inside frame, flying birds and floral whimsies, some swooning branch-y lines around some symmetrical patterns, and a dropout in a corner as a cute signature. Kudos to David Figueiras! This complex and well-balanced mix of order and organic shapes on the cut mirrors beautifully the painting that seems to combine Asian and Baroque sensibilities. Truly intrigued by this image, I wanted to know more about Giuseppe Castiglione. First sentence of Wikipedia: "[...] an Italian Jesuit brother and missionary in China, where he served as an artist at the imperial court of three Qing emperors – the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong emperors. He painted in a style that is a fusion of European and Chinese traditions." How fascinating! Once again, Artifact, you completely blow my mind! Such an excellent choice of a delicate and precious painting that opens a window on an interesting part of art history, and the perfect marriage with a cut that brings it to new heights! (Side note: do I use too many exclamation marks?! Well, this puzzle deserves each one of them!)

Review: Very beautiful cut pattern. Lovely colors and composition to piece together. it is symmetrical in many ways so you can be tricked a little, thinking a piece should fit when in reality it’s likely going to end up on the other side of the puzzle. After you put it together you can admire the beauty of the pattern too. It’s challenging while still being a small footprint for your table top.

Review: This was an engaging puzzle, it does have a regular edge but the body of the puzzle was “busy” and will keep you busy as well. For a small puzzle with a regular edge this is not an easy puzzle, I spent two busy hours working it, and it stays interesting beginning to end. The whimsical pieces are fun but not really productive. Some puzzles if you fill out all the whimsical pieces, all one needs to do is fill in in-between. This is not that easy. I loved the art; this is an intermediate difficulty, not so simple as to be insulting and not so difficult as to be disheartening, complex enough to stay engaging the whole time. It is a great value for puzzle lovers either to own or as a gift. The puzzle has enough size and areas for a couple to share, between 2 birds, cherries with tree, border pieces for example two people could their own responsibilities. I know some sharp tween age young puzzle savants who will relish this puzzle.

Review: This lovely puzzle has several several delightful surprises not evident, thankfully, in the previews. It is challenging for its size and price, quite a value. I think Artifact could start a classification for puzzles that are valuable for quiet meditation and reflection. This would be one of them. Don't be fooled by its simplicity. It is a beautiful puzzle.
