This is a 232 piece Ecru wooden jigsaw puzzle of "Lemons" by Jacob van Hulsdonck. Our Ecru puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare. The still life painting includes not only lemons but also oranges and a pomegranate, and the puzzle design by Jef-Bambas is composed of mini-hex puzzle pieces and a few whimsies. This is a somewhat hard puzzle. Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4" thick laser-cut wood and made in the USA. Packaged in our standard pine wood box.

Review: It's always cool discovering a new piece shape and pulling this one out of the box, the subtle variance in color palette and piece shape made for a fun new kind of challenge in putting it together. This is one of the few pieces of classic art I've done in Artifact puzzles. Definitely more fun than the cardboard puzzle equivalent! Personally my strategy was the china, then the pomegranate, then the whimsies, then the wood table, then the final black corners. Occasionally you'll hit a situation where something fits but it doesn't look quite right. Trust your insticts.

Review: This is a gorgeous classic, intricately painted and realistic still life. It’s the only hexagonal shapes puzzle I’ve tried and was frustrating and was frustrating in its own way. my partner wasn’t keen on keeping it after piecing it twice, but I like the image so much it’s staying - plus the unique cut pattern. I can just picture doing it with extended family… after Covid… Who appreciate the classic image with unique shapes.

Review: I solved this as a mystery puzzle without peeking and am delighted with the result. It was a fun challenge but not too difficult. It is my first puzzle with hex shaped pieces. I spent about 3 1/2 hours completing it. Highly recommend this one.

Review: This was sold as Ecru Mystery Puzzle #1, and as a mystery puzzle where one is supposed to not look at the image on the box lid; I would say this puzzle is next to impossible. I did try it first that way. First pick out the blue china pattern and try to make something with it. Not easy in this case, made worse by the hex piece shapes. Then not to insult lemons or passion fruit but from a distance either often looks much like their siblings. The good news is if one relaxes the no peeking rules this puzzle is no longer impossible. Maybe just “Really Hard”. If you or an acquaintance think much of your jigsaw puzzle skills this could a real test. Par for wooden jigsaw puzzle is about one piece per minute; so 232 pieces should require about four hours. Double that time allotment for not peeking at the box. I could bet someone lunch every day, gain weight and save money for weeks at a time, one sucker at a time. Six hours for a 1000 piece puzzle, this one is one-fourth that size; how bad could it be? If anyone could make or improve on those benchmarks I would be real impressed. I have an expert friend who never looks at the box lid; this puzzle has her stumped for weeks. She will never look at the box lid, not that she is stubborn. (eye roll) I’d almost feel bad for her if she wasn’t enjoying her discomfort.
