This is a 191 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of Bruce Riley's painting "Stem Cell". Designed by Tara Flannery, the themed whimsies and miniature hexagonal connectors coupled with psychedelic colors and abstract shapes make for an exciting experience. The puzzle's irregular, microscopic-themed edge adds to the uniqueness and challenge (the difficulty is above average). NOTE: The irregular edge is not shown in the image on the box!
Like all our puzzles, laser-cut from 1/4" thick wood. Packaged in a blue box with magnetic clasp. Made in USA.

Fun puzzle. Starts out easy but gets a little harder as you go. I started and could not stop. Finished in 2 hours.

I bought this because of the cool and alluring design. When I opened the box and saw several small pieces, I was sure that it would be beyond my skill level and just frustrating. Boy, was I wrong. This was one of the most enjoyable (addictive) puzzles I've done. I did have to use the reference picture but more advanced people would probably enjoy the additional challenge without it. This is a keeper/repeater for me!!

Stem Cell as a standalone puzzle is great. Irregular edge and the organic chemistry themed whimsies will please many life science nerds. Four starts because there are some pieces that mimic long branching axon cells that are delicate and require care in handling as they are prone to chipping and breakage. The colors, though, are beautiful and the puzzle well worth doing. This puzzle can combine with "Half Life" with some separately purchased connectors. Doing "Stem Cell" plus "Half Life" together is amazing fun, and HIGHLY recommended. See the matching linking review of the "Half Life" puzzle.

This is my favorite artifact puzzle to date. I love the irregular edges in particular! I pull it out periodically and still have to really think to get it done. I really prefer Artifact puzzles to another brand out there hands down! Clever, inventive, unique, challenging and well made.
