Artifact Puzzles - Bruce Riley Stem Cell Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle

Artifact Puzzles - Bruce Riley Stem Cell Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle

$ 53.00

This is a 191 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of Bruce Riley's painting "Stem Cell". Designed by Tara Flannery, the themed whimsies and miniature hexagonal connectors coupled with psychedelic colors and abstract shapes make for an exciting experience. The puzzle's irregular, microscopic-themed edge adds to the uniqueness and challenge (the difficulty is above average).

Like all our puzzles, laser-cut from 1/4" thick wood. Packaged in a small blue box with magnetic clasp. Made in USA (specifically, in Fremont, California).

11" by 10.5"

Review: I have put together many puzzles that are larger, more intricate, and more tricky...but not one has topped Stem Cell for straight-out fun. The pieces are so wildly-shaped and colorful, and the finished puzzle is so wonderfully crazy. Some Artifact puzzles leave me deeply satisfied because of their difficulty ( Ito Jakuchu Plum Blossoms ); some leave me with a gorgeous image to enjoy ( Iris Scott The Discussion ); but this one, with its sense of energy and exuberance, simply left me...with a big smile. Priceless. Thanks Artifact, great puzzle.

Review: I went back and forth for weeks before deciding to buy the Stem Cell puzzle. Since being introduced to Artifact puzzles as something to do during the Pandemic, I'd settled on the "average difficulty" range as my comfort level. As a newbie to the sport, that posed enough challenges for me. When I showed the beautiful Stem Cell puzzle to a friend but voiced my misgivings about its harder than average difficulty rating, she encouraged me to take a chance. Well, it just about did me in! By the end of a marathon session after work, (with Big Bang Theory episodes on TV in the background), I was down to about two dozen pieces and COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out where they went. Obviously around the edges, but .... Where? How? I covered the incomplete puzzle with a dish towel so the cat wouldn't mess with it and went to bed. The next evening after work, I looked at the situation with fresh eyes - and in less than half an hour, had finished it! Took photos to prove it to my friend! Saved completed masterpiece to show family members coming for Easter! Whew! I need a break ...
