Review: This is a very difficult puzzle, rated “Really Hard” by Artifact. How can a 79 piece puzzle be so hard? The edges are regular, I’ll offer that much. There are two whimsical pieces but they don’t help that much. Almost all the pieces are rectangular connector-less tiles of varying proportions and I fought this puzzle for at least 2 hours. I quit and came back which is most unusual for me. The last dozen or so Artifact puzzles I reviewed I knocked out, I averaged almost 2 pieces per minute. That is fast by Artifact standards. One can “kind of” get about 80% of this puzzle finished, but then pieces will not fit exactly right. It is the last 20% that can eat hours. One can’t make assumptions, every placement, easy placements to physically place, needs to be verified twice. Some people run away from a challenge, some run toward a challenge. If you are ready for a 6”x 7.5”, 79 piece really hard challenge, this would be my favorite. Colors, quality and all that are always up to Artifact standards. Give this puzzle to some one you love, or hate. Give this puzzle to someone who thinks they are good a jigsaw puzzles. I am humbled.

Review: I ordered this puzzle because I was intrigued by the connectorless design. What a little delight! My teen-age daughter were able to do the puzzle in about a half hour, but along the way we had to re-assess piece placement several times. The image on the puzzle is subtle, which added to the difficulty, beauty, and satisfaction of the puzzle. I would love to see more using this connectorless idea. The puzzle came with a little plastic spatula. Have no idea what it is for, and is not necessary.
