We're Spilling the Beans on the Metaphors in Modern Metaphors (Contest Results)

Here is the list of 541 metaphors either illustrated in the artwork or by the puzzle's whimsy pieces!   You can also still guess and keep your score on our metaphors website.

You guys are brilliant, and we were impressed (and relieved!) that every metaphor we had was reported by someone!  Way to go! 

Congratulations to the winning three Metaphor Masters who (sometimes with a little help from their friends!) found the most metaphors by the 3 deadlines, these guys really hit it out of the park:  

• Claire Rojstaczer found 488 metaphors
• Kristen Petzinger found 441 metaphors
• Savanah Starkey found 434 metaphors

And honorable mentions to these three who, dare I say, are the bee's knees: 

• Susanne Riehemann found 383 metaphors
• Stanley Tan found 345 metaphors
• Jacquelyn Schoenherr found 332 metaphors

While most of the metaphors you might hear everyday, like "cat burglar", and "catch 22", others were a bit more specialized, like "Sisphyean task" and "slippery slope." 

And then a handful were ones only specialists were likely to know, like the Dead Cat Bounce which is when people think a stock has hit bottom, but ouch! - they are wrong and the stock falls some more.
