Okay, technically they are cicadas, but they look like what I imagine locusts would be.  They come on a 17 year cycle, and since their last emergence was 2004, so it's on for this year.

    I’ve always been jealous that the East and Central have fireflies.
    Now I have to add cicadas to the mix.
