We design our puzzles for 14 years and up, but once in a while we hear about some precocious young puzzlers.

At 4 years old, Orson is already hammering out cardboard 1,000 piece puzzles.

Since Orson's name means "bear," and he's been learning some yoga, his parents thought he'd enjoy our Yogi puzzle.  Here's Orson in-action:

That other cute guy in the photo is his little brother Victor, though his parents note they are keeping a watchful eye on him, as we do all worry toddlers will try to eat puzzle pieces.

Best wishes to all the young puzzle fans out there!

Geoffrey, I greatly appreciated your comment. It gave me the confidence to buy “Fabric Owls” for my 4 year old daughter as a ‘gift’ to my wife for Mother’s day. They got to do it together. Before your comment, I was mostly looking at fewer piece count big piece puzzles that she could do herself.

I really like how each owl of the puzzle was a distinct color. Instead of thinking of it as a 156 piece puzzle, it was more like six 30 piece puzzles. It was such a huge success, that I decided to buy her some more >150 piece count puzzles for father’s day that we can all do together. My wife will have to wrap them up and give them to me. My daughter is going to be so excited.

For this next batch I chose “Creature Ladder”, “Farmland”, and “Lively Landscape”. Each look like a puzzle that can be sorted into distinct patchwork sections.

Ah, the joys of blog comment replies where the person you are replying to will likely never see the response.

My main puzzle partner is my 4 year old, and his typical weekend or evening request is “Daddy, can we do a wooden puzzle?”. “Fabric Owls” and “Pursuit of Happiness” are his current favorites and I am always on the look out for some fun, child friendly themes. Thanks for providing us with countless hours of joy.
