This is a 418 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of American contemporary painter Kevin Sloan's "Welcome to the Wilderness" painting, from Sloan's Birds of America series, which re-visits Audubon's famous series of the same name. The puzzle was designed by puzzle artist Tara Flannery, and features a partly-irregular edge, many whimsy pieces with a South American wilderness theme, and the connectors are reverse-mushroom-curl. The puzzle's difficulty is average. Like all our puzzles, laser-cut from quarter inch thick wood. Packaged in our standard pine wood box. Made in USA.

The beauty of this puzzle consist in combining elements of classicism -gorgeous vintage suitcases, the egret painted in an Audubon style, the dramatic landscape in the background-, a modern fun irregular edge and the suggested slapstick moment about to happen: the landing of the monarch butterfly! The irregular edge of this puzzle is so much fun! I am sorry that Edward (see review below) mistook the drop-outs as missing pieces. These drop-outs add narratives to the central image. It is average hard and a great moment of mental traveling.

Exceptional artistry, creativity and sense of whimsy by Kevin Sloane and Tara Flannery. A frustratingly joyful experience with a wooden jigsaw puzzle of the highest quality. Thank you Artifact Puzzles!

Four of my family finished this puzzle in three hours and twenty minutes after thanksgiving dinner and were excited and proud. Over the years I have been buying great 500 piece puzzles. This puzzle was 418 pieces and some of the edge pieces were missing, this made me uncomfortable. I am sure we will be buying more of this type from your company next year.

This puzzle is so much fun. It is probably the best argument for not revealing the funky frames. I assembled the puzzle without a clue of the border. What a fun unfolding that was. As is true of all of Kevin Sloan's works engaged by Artifact, he puts the whimsy in the puzzle before Ms. Flannery adds hers. I love all things Sloan and Flannery. Thank you, thank you.

This puzzle is fantastic! It has a wonderfully unusual edge and fascinating whimsy pieces, some with see-through cuts. Each suitcase is like a mini puzzle that you can assemble and then fit together. I would rate it as difficult.
