This is a delightful 270 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of Kevin Sloan's painting "Naughty Bird." The puzzle was designed by puzzle artist Tara Flannery and features many themed whimsy pieces and reverse-mushroom curl connectors (to see example pieces, click on the small image under the main product image). The edge is partially irregular and the difficulty is average. NOTE: The irregular edge is not shown in the image on the box! Like all our puzzles, the 1/4" thick wood pieces are laser-cut. Packaged in our standard unfinished pine wood box. Made in USA.

Review: Wow, what a luscious painting with an elegant edge! The orchid is particularly disorienting to assemble, in a fun way. The glossy finish of the puzzle enhances its preciousness and the complexity of the connectors makes it really interesting. Lots of whimsies and anti-whimsies (amongst others: put the bird in a cage and the fish in a fish bowl!). Lovely!

Review: This is a beautiful picture, complete with Mr. Sloan’s trademark wink to whimsy. It’s hard to say which is his prettiest, this or Fragile Habitat. I am definitely an aficionado of his work, as well as that of Ms. Flannery. She has worked her magic here with the “interactive” whimsies and the delicate irregular border. This is a “pretty” easy puzzle, however. The pieces are quite large. You’ll have half the puzzle done in a heart beat. Then it gets a bit more difficult when you’re left with the flowers and the background. I don’t mind easy now and then and the picture compensates for this, but if you’re one who likes a challenge, this is probably not for you.

Review: This puzzle is not just for the birds! I imagine it’s sure to please anyone who has ever loved a naughty pet. It is one of the earliest Artifact Puzzles I solved. I still remember the sheer delight I felt in discovering animated whimsy pieces, scattered throughout, catching naughty pets in the act. If you’re drawn to the image, as I was, I can’t imagine a better introduction to Artifact’s puzzles. It remains an all-time favorite. A delightful homage to naughty pets everywhere.

Review: I love birds and I couldn't resist getting this puzzle when I realized that the whimsy pieces inside told the story of a very naughty bird. I had a pet parakeet that was very naughty, too - even walking across my dad's fried eggs and leaving those telltale yellow tracks behind... This puzzle is fun on many levels, the stories the whimsy pieces make, but also the pieces themselves, they are very unusual and not the easiest to put together. It is a fun, challenging puzzle. It also has an irregular edge which makes it extra fun and challenging! It is also of very high quality, and a pleasure to do more than once!
