This is a 179 piece Ecru wooden jigsaw puzzle of Rachell Sumpter's "Brothers in Sport." Our Ecru puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare. Sumpter's gouache and pastel art has more detail than an image here can accurately reflect. The puzzle design is by Matt Lyon, and is composed of unique piece shapes without traditional whimsies. The irregular edge is as unusual as the pieces themselves, and makes the puzzle harder than average. Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4" thick laser-cut wood and made in the USA. Packaged in a blue box with a magnetic clasp.

Review: A lovely Artifact puzzle! Sometimes I want a smaller puzzle that I can do and enjoy alone. This one delivers everything I love about Artifact puzzles: super interesting piece shapes, irregular edges, rich and beautiful colors. This one is a winner! I think it would make a great gift too!

Review: Don't let it's size fool you. It is a small one but it did give me a good puzzle time. No need to refer to the image, just study the pieces, and let them lead the way. Artifact really delivered an outstanding piece here. I love the border, the colors, and perfect for Ecru!

Review: I almost didn't buy this one...for some reason, I thought the colors might be too blurred, or.....I don't know. I figured it might be frustrating instead of enjoyable. Boy, was I wrong. Luckily, the review below mine swayed my mind and I'm so glad it did. What a lovely, enjoyable, puzzle. Relax....keep the picture out of sight....and just let the beautiful colors and detail guide you along. You won't regret buying this puzzle.

Review: This was a most delightful puzzle to work on; pieces are relatively small, irregular and very complex in shape. I actually found the puzzle easier than I expected; I finished 179 pieces in just under 2 hours. The outside edge is very irregular. The colors are vibrant and attractive, and the detail reproduces well. If there are any whimsical pieces I missed noticing them. Not a loss in this case. If my reviews all seem similar, it may be because in my experience Artifact produces products of uniformly very high quality, each with a very high degree of design and development. Some folks mention the high cost of Artifact puzzles. Quality materials I am sure cost more than inferior materials. With this particular puzzle the high cost of intensive human design is very evident. Each complex irregular piece is the product of how many creative human decisions. This puzzle is most evidently the product of some extremely gifted person’s obsession. I particularly appreciate all the love and hard work that went into this puzzle’s design. (Spoilers) I was lucky the way this puzzle came together for me so quickly. It is very easy to find the pieces making the two riders on horse back. Then I searched for all the pieces with tree branches. That gave me the middle third of the puzzle. The blue sky has a very different texture than the blue stream. I finished the bottom quickly but found the blue sky more of a challenge. I now have 107 Artifact/Ecru puzzles, and I am getting a little better at this, maybe playing at par level. 179 pieces in 120 minutes would suggest that this is an easy puzzle but I found working this puzzle very engaging; I would not say easy. I am confident that if you like Artifact puzzles you will enjoy this one as well. It is small enough to finish in one setting, big enough to share with a friend. The pieces may be too small and the design too involved for say children under the age of 8. Having said that, I have a 13 year old great niece who offered her opinion that no Artifact puzzle is challenging enough. For us mortals of normal skills this puzzle is perfect.
