Our 277 piece Dragon Mountain wooden jigsaw puzzle painting is by Washington illustrator Bryn Barnard. This is a great puzzle to put together as a family. It features Asian-themed multi-piece figurative whimsy pieces designed by Seattle graphic artist Jimmy Farmer: find the ninja, dragon, footbridge, kanji, towers, samurai, toad, helmet, and panda (click on the small image below the big image above to see example puzzle pieces). This puzzle has a straight edge and average difficulty. All our puzzles are made of 1/4" wood. Comes packaged in an unfinished pine wooden box. Warning: puzzle pieces can be a choking hazard for small children.
Review: I think this one has enough different color sections and whimsical image that it would be a good puzzle to do with kids. We enjoyed this one and at first it seemed easy but there are harder sections too. A fun puzzle!

Review: This was the first Artifact puzzle I did with relatively large pieces, and I admit I was a little taken aback at first--I was used to the smaller pieces. Compared to other Artifact puzzles, it has pieces that are more rounded, with more traditional connectors. The whimsies were themed to the puzzle. Though small, it did still pose a challenge.

Review: This is a delightful puzzle with beautiful colors and an intriguing image. There are many trick pieces and false edge pieces. It is designed to challenge the puzzler, not to be easy. This was one of the first Artifact puzzles that I received and I still enjoy doing it! It has unusual whimsy pieces, without a clear theme, although some of them are of oriental, and a fantasy nature, but a frog? And a teddy bear? I guess it is just a fun stretch of the imagination. I highly recommend it! The quality is excellent and I think it will last for generations!

Review: This is such a beautiful, well-made puzzle! I own many wooden puzzles including old hand cut and the new laser cut and this is one of my favorite! The delightfully themed whimsies (shapes, silhouettes, figurals) are one of the reasons I love it. There is a delightful dragon whimsy. It is a complicated (several piece) whimsy but it is wonderful and not to be missed. So there are TWO "hidden" dragons in this puzzle! The small dragon within the puzzle and the large dragon that is the illusion of the picture. Several of the shapes/whimsies within this puzzle are formed of many pieces. The arched bridge has the most with 7. The dragon has 4 pieces, the two pagodas and one warrior have 3 pieces while the crouching warrior and several others are made up of 2 pieces. I do not believe there are any simple one-piece whimsies unless you count the kanji for Peace which is made up of two seperate pieces situated together in the puzzle. It is not a firmly interlocking puzzle, which contributes to the challenge. Many amazing puzzles old and new are not interlocking, but if you must have a tightly interlocking puzzle, this one may not be for you. That being said, I believe this is a wonderful, well made, beautiful and fun puzzle that any puzzle lover would be delighted to own. I own several Artifact puzzles and highly recommend them, this one included!
