O me, what fray was here? Here is a 424 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring Tomasz Pietrzyk's painting "Romeo and Juliet."
Designed by David Figueiras, the puzzle design has an array of fancy connectors, an overload of themed whimsies, and a straight edge. Overall this puzzle is "average hard."
And unlike its namesake, this puzzle is anything but a tragedy.
Like all our puzzles, laser-cut from 1/4" thick wood. Packaged in our standard unfinished pine wood box. Made in USA.

Love is quite literally in the air in this colorful depiction of Romeo and Juliet, and the castles of the Capulets and Montagues; heart-shaped whimsy pieces in the sky give a hopeful outlook to the Artifact version of this age-old tale. We are wishing for a happy ending this time!! As Romeo and Juliet cross the abyss between the castles, their relations look on from various turrets. We especially identified with the grandfather sitting on the Capulet's porch; as he gazes intently at the young lovers, his expression is one of loving concern. Anyone who has watched their children leave the nest can readily feel his emotions! We loved this puzzle for its numerous and meaningful whimsy pieces, its colorful artwork, for the unusual shapes of the pieces, and for its exacting details which stimulated our imaginations.

This is a delightful puzzle to do! I love the colors, the design and the uniqueness of the pieces. There are a large number of swirly pieces, but how they connect with the rest of the pieces is not obvious. Artifact does make much more difficult, challenging puzzles. This one is more of a pleasure. It is my new favorite puzzle!!! I also have Tomasz Pietrzyk's Tall Towers and Circle of Time, both of which are gorgeous, fun, delightful puzzles. I was a bit surprised that the edges were "conventional," well the puzzle is rectangular, but the edge pieces are tricky, not obvious.
