This is a challenging 219-piece Ecru wooden jigsaw puzzle of "Hues of Zion" by Erin Hanson. Our Ecru Puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare. The reptilian puzzle design by Jef Bambas celebrates the natural beauty of the American southwest with tesselated pieces and themed whimsies. Whether you're below the Great White Throne or parked at home, solving this puzzle will be decidedly less frightening than Angels Landing. Solving it is quite a challenge - this puzzle is really hard!

Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4" thick laser-cut wood. Packaged in our standard pine wood box. Made in the USA (specifically, in Fremont, California).

Review: I love the Erin Hanson puzzles because the pieces look like an entirely random mess of color when you start and they turn into a beautiful gestalt design by the time you are finished. They are especially rewarding if you don't look at the box design as you are assembling (and honestly I think it would probably just be frustrating to try to match such similarly colored pieces against the box anyway) This puzzle seems really hard as you are getting started - but stick with it. With careful color matching you'll soon get a feel for how the pieces fit together and before you know it you'll be done.

Review: I am constantly surprised by Artifact puzzles. This puzzle is not only beautiful when completed with a fascinating cut and delightful whimsies, but it has a secret surprise on the back. You will glimpse hints of it when assembling the puzzle, but be sure to find a way to turn over the assembled puzzle to see it in full. Or maybe, assemble it upside down!

Review: I bought this for my partner who really loves challenging artifact puzzles. Even though I’m not so keen on the shapes which are pointed almost like little lizards – he is. It is a very colorful nicely cut puzzle to do right side up and upside down.

Review: I had been impatiently waiting for this puzzle and after what seemed like forever I was excited when it came out and I scooped it up. I was even more excited when I opened the box and saw all of the lizards. Taking into account all of the Artifact puzzles that I've done, this one definitely is one of their master pieces, one of my favorites, and the puzzle design goes perfectly with Erin Hansen's gorgeous painting. I hope there are many more Erin Hansen puzzles and more puzzles with tessellated Escher type designs. This is such a unique puzzle and thus a unique experience. It was a joy to put together altho I did have trouble putting some pieces in the wrong places, but that was part of the fun because if it was the correct piece it fit perfectly and after a couple of wrong pieces I could tell if it was the right piece or not. However, I didn't learn this lesson well enough as when I was almost done and had just 3 pieces left none of them would fit in one of the open spaces. Luckily I figured it out right away. I was sorry to be done with it. So if you like rather hard, beautiful, unique amazing puzzles then this one is for you.

Review: Sometimes when I open the box of an Artifact or Ecru puzzle, I think “oh crap, this is the one I wont be able to do.” This was one of those times. I had a seemingly gigantic pile of lizards in front of me, covered with abstract markings. I started with the horizon line, and before I knew it I had a grip on how the puzzle worked. Just enough of a challenge to be good for your brain, not enough pieces for it to be a miserable slog. Some traditional puzzles devolve into a mindless process of elimination as you struggle to fill a large section of uniform color through simply trying every piece in every space. I have never had that happen with with an Artifact/Ecru puzzle. There HAVE been a few moments where I thought “oh my god, I’m stuck and I’m going to have to call them!” But it has never happened, and I cant get enough of these things.
