This 159 piece wooden puzzle is of a medieval tapestry with a captured unicorn. The tapestry was part of a series called "The Hunt of the Unicorn," thought to be made to celebrate the wedding of King Louis the XXII of France at the end of the 15th century. Our puzzle features medieval-themed whimsy pieces by Tara Flannery and a wavy edge, and is quite difficult! NOTE: The irregular edge is not shown in the image on the box! The puzzle pieces are laser-cut from 1/4" wood. Made in the USA. Packaged in a small box with a magnetic clasp.

Review: The colors are a little more washed out than the image here appears. Still a nice little puzzle of a beautiful work of art though!

Review: Lots of fun - you think there's an endless sea of green that will make it challenging, but it's really not that bad as the piece count is low, and the flowers are all quite different colors if you look close enough. I'm fascinated by this tapestry - it's a classic, beautiful tapestry loved by fans of medieval fantasy, yet the entire set depicts the hunting, capturing, and taming of the unicorn. The destruction of the pure and beautiful, perhaps even the conversion of the Pagan. But this single frame almost has none of that, it's just the unicorn surrounded by beauty, and you can almost (almost) forget the larger story. But the unicorn is still in captivity. Anyway yeah. I love this tapestry too but I can't ever stop thinking about that when I see this.

Review: I love unicorns and have been to Stirling Castle to see the unicorn tapestries. Of course it was a non negotiable for me to work this puzzle. Very challenging for such a small piece count.

Review: I’m so happy with this unicorn puzzle, I’ve done it over and over and it’s still hard enough to take plenty of time keeping my hands busy while the TV is on. There are many fun surprises in the special shaped pieces. One of my favorite art images in this fun format - I just love it!
