This is a 378-piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of the richly detailed "Reading on the Carpet of Paradise" by Brit Jethro Buck.

It is a really hard puzzle with a split tendril connector (STC) puzzle design and irregular edge and just a sprinkling of whimsies, by Ashley Boyd.

The image variation and detail keeps it from being super hard, but it's definitely for serious puzzlers.

Jethro Buck is a contemporary British painter trained in traditional Indian and Persian miniature painting techniques.

Like all our puzzles, made with 1/4" thick wood and the pieces are laser-cut. Packaged in our 3" pine wood box. Made in the USA (specifically, in Fremont, California).

Review: I LOVED this puzzle. It was very challenging—okay, difficult—but it is beautiful. There are, however, plenty of clues if you pay attention to patterns and colors. Easy to say these days because it is so easy to get distrac

Review: It’s interesting reading the previous reviews regarding difficulty - all the way from “impossible” to “about three hours”, and comparisons to other puzzles. It took me a bit over 10 hours without ever looking at the picture and I found it far harder than Crystal Grove, just the opposite of Michael Fox’s experience. I’ve done 4 of these split tendril constructions now and found them, in increasing difficulty order, to be Crustal Grove, Undergrowth with Two Figures, this one, and Fishies (which was extremely difficult). I also did it through the Hoefnagel Club and also put it on my list of future purchases. I recommend this most highly for those who like the difficult ones.

Review: Took half a minute to figure out how the pieces connect but after that the entire puzzle took about three hours. I have have it out of puzzle club right now but will be purchasing it when it comes back around. Definitely recommend for a chilled puzzle experience.

Review: I have had a recurring dream of late that I am on some sort of wild hallucinogen.Curiously it started the day I began layout out of the puzzle, Reading on the Carpet of Paradise. Flowers and seeds and vines and fungus—along with tendriled creatures wrapping themselves around me. The dream ended upon completion of this beautiful piece. Actually, putting together this gem takes a bit longer than the average Artifact puzzle, but it is far easier than its cousin, Crystal Grove. Reading on the Carpet of Paradise is akin to putting several smaller puzzles together, each with their distinctive elements and patterns. It gives you a great sense of accomplishment upon completion. Oh. and it is a beauty. Good things are happening at Artifact because each latest puzzle I purchase seems to me to be their best yet! This is a great one, too, for family gathering and holidays.

Review: This is a beautifully designed puzzle. The artwork is incredible. This is my second Artifact puzzle with split tendril connectors, and they are definitely a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle - challenging and fun.
