FELIX GONZALEZ-TORRES (1957-1996) - "Untitled" (Paris, Last Time, 1989)
Felix Gonzalez-Torres is most famous for his installations of piles of candy (see photo above of one such pile at the Portland Art Museum).
He was a Cuban-born American, and a contemporary artist in New York City active in the 80's and 90's.
A lot of his artwork is titled "Untitled", like the jigsaw puzzle up for auction.
People praise his "innovative approach, profound insights, and enduring influence on the art world."
