We've just created our third puzzle with the captivating art of Polish painter Tomasz Pietrzyk, called Circle of Time (below), and we asked him to share a bit about his artwork.

Tomasz Pietrzyk (Translation from Polish by Kasia Kryca)
Ever since I can remember I liked the fantasy painting. I spent tons of time looking at the images of various characters from the world of fantasy. Later on they did influence my own art. I did not want, however, to duplicate what has already been created. I wanted to create my own world, where everything was possible.
The hardest part was to come up with my own unique characters. Here the hint came by itself, just like that, by accident really. I had an abstract painting, that I once painted, which I did not consider a good one. So I took some sandpaper and a hard sponge and started to remove the paint for the canvas. During this process the white backing started to emerge from under the paint, but at the same time I saw something else out there. I saw sort of a head with a distinctive beak. “This is it!” I thought. That was when this story of mine has started and now, so many years later, I am still telling it though my paintings.
As you may have noticed I do like to include in my paintings the elements that are not easily seen at first. Tiny figures which often are doing something which does not seem to have much sense. But when someone eventually gets to notice these little figures, a smile comes to his face and he gets taken on a journey - sometimes goes back to his childhood, other times gets a little spooked. I think that some type of "odd characters" live in the depths of every human being. These are mine.
Original Polish: Odkąd pamiętam lubiłem malarstwo fantastyczne. Spędziłem wiele czasu oglądając obrazy przedstawiające postaci ze świata fantasy. To wpłynęło w późniejszym czasie na moją własną twórczość. Nie chciałem jednak powielać tego co już zostało stworzone. Chciałem kreować swój własny świat, w którym wszystko jest możliwe. Najtrudniej było wymyślić jego bohaterów. Tutaj podpowiedź przyszła sama. Przez przypadek. Miałem obraz – abstrakcję, która była nie udana. Wziąłem papier ścierny i twardą gąbkę by usunąć z niego farbę. Podczas tego zabiegu spod farby zaczął przebijać się biały podkład. Wtedy to zobaczyłem. Pojawiła się głowa ze specyficznym dziobem. Pomyślałem, że to jest to. I tak wiele lat temu zaczęła historia, którą opowiadam do dzisiaj.
Lubię zamieszczać w swoich pracach elementy, których nie widzi się od razu. Są to maleńkie postaci, które często robią coś co nie ma kompletnie żadnego sensu, ale gdy już ktoś to zauważy wywołuje to uśmiech na twarzy widza. Zabiera go w podróż, przypomina czasem coś z dzieciństwa, czasem trochę straszy. Myślę, że „dziwolągi” mieszkają w głębi każdego człowieka. Te są moje.
