New September 2022! This 225 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle has imagery created by the artificial intelligence program DALL-E. This is a box of nine small puzzles on the theme "animals in motion".

Each puzzle is about 25 pieces, with the pieces all mixed-up together, for a total of 225 pieces.

The puzzle design by Matt Lyon has cute animals-in-motion whimsies and squiggly connectors. Each of the 9 mini-puzzles has a straight edge.

Overall this puzzle is average difficulty. The pieces are pretty robust and suitable for puzzling with kids.

Jim Muller used OpenAI's AI program DALL-E to convert strings of text like "bear riding bicycle" into images. The DALL-E AI generated these images to try to match each input string of text. DALL-E creates multiple images for a given input, and Jim then iterated and selected to get DALL-E to produce the particularly nice images we showcase in this puzzle.

Like all our puzzles, laser-cut from 1/4" wood. Made in USA.

Packaged in a blue cardboard box with a magnetic closure.

Review: How adorable is this puzzle!? I know, I know, this is technically aimed more for kids but we couldn't resist it. Of course I worked the unicorn while Aaron worked the 'manly' animals HA! Super cute and easy for kids to help with also.

Review: We found "Animals in Motion" to be Pure Fun!! The nine animal images that Jim created with his prompts to the AI program are each amusing, colorful, and captivating. This puzzle is just perfect for two or more people to work on at a time, as each image is a distinct puzzle; we could imagine the puzzle being the center of attraction at a family gathering for Thanksgiving or the December holiday season, with members gathered round to share the fun. The pieces are larger than usual, making it especially manageable for the children. In fact, it would also be a great gift for a special child or grandchild to launch them on their puzzling career. Our grandson, in his early 20's, is in the PhD program at Chicago for AI, and we may just present it to him as a gift, along with Jim's explanation of its creation. It is really pretty amazing to think of this new art form; it is in its infancy, to be sure, but we all have a chance to participate. As an aside, one can, of course, arrange the individual 9 square puzzles into any arrangement, and we had some fun playing with the options and choosing our favorites.

Review: Awesome grouping Jim! I’m not a techie, but I love a good sci-fi and AI creating art just makes me smile. And, is that a three-legged pup??? SUPER CUTE!
