This is a 300 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of Joe Vaux's painting "Season of the Rabbit." The painting shows a rabbit hunting natives, and includes cartoonish National Geographic-style nudity like bare-chested cartoon women and some cartoonish violent imagery - if this puzzle were a movie we'd rate it PG-13, so please use your own judgement if purchasing for a kid.

The artist Joe Vaux says about this artwork: This painting was based on my anger at the entire human race for its poor treatment of the other inhabitants of this world. The painting takes place in an alternate time or reality where man is treated the way animals are hunted in our reality. The two hunters, the turtle and hare, the most innocent creatures I could think of, are returning from their regal hunt.

This puzzle was designed by Tara Flannery and has very whimsical pieces in Vaux's style. This puzzle has a straight edge and is easier than average due to the diversity of the puzzle piece shapes and image colors. All our puzzles are laser-cut 1/4" thick real wood and made in the USA. This puzzle is packaged in a wide pine wood box.

Review: Another delightfully creepy puzzle thanks to Joe Vaux. As someone who supports animal rights I loved this puzzle. Humans are horrifically cruel to animals and each other. I think Joe definitely captured what animals would do to us if they could in this image. Fun to work but the image will stick with you for a while.

Review: The Hare and the Tortoise team up to take one back for the animals! Goofy, fun colors and shapes. The cut for this puzzle is pretty outrageous; quirky chaos pairs well with Vaux's vision. There's no denying its macabre element. But hey, those animals deserve a break, don't you think? A quickie and fun!
