This is a 209 piece Ecru wooden jigsaw puzzle. Our Ecru puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare. The charming image is by the world's most famous Emu painter, Tasmanian artist Patricia Hopwood-Wade. This puzzle is really hard, much harder than it looks, because the puzzle design by Martin Anderson and Jef Bambas has non-unique pieces inspired by the Hilbert curve. This puzzle has a straight edge.

This particular puzzle print is very light and tends to scorch a little when laser-cut, so on this puzzle you may see some visible discoloration and scorching of the print, but you'll find that helpful to complete the puzzle.

Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4" thick laser-cut wood and made in the USA. Packaged in a blue box with a magnetic clasp.

Review: Imperial Probe Emus! My upper left corner finished with dropouts and a super fancy edge — digital snow! I’m good with that. 🤣 May the 4th be with you.

Review: Adorable picture. However, this little puzzle is not for a beginner. Many pieces can fit in the same place. You have to be very observant of slight differences in the colors. Even knowing this, it was not until I was placing the last two pieces that I realized someone was not in the correct place. I loved it when the ah-ha hit. So glad it has straight sides because that helped decrease the difficulty.

Review: I mostly give this one four stars instead of five because I have a really high bar for Artifact puzzles and this one was not quite as fun as others in the difficult category. It is surprisingly difficult for its piece count - when you first pull it out of the box it seems like there are not many pieces at all. Where it gets challenging is that there are effectively no whimsies and much of the puzzle is a fairly uniform set of blues and whites. There are a number of arguably identical pieces though if you look really, really closely you can usually tell if something is not placed quite correctly. I prefer the wood puzzles where there is more definitively a "right answer" for each piece - since in my opinion, a lot of the satisfaction of finding the right piece is knowing that it's actually the right piece.

Review: This is the first artifact puzzle that I was disappointed with. We finished it off and on over two evenings but I grew irritated by the number of pieces that fit perfectly in the wrong location. Even now, looking at it completed, I can't tell you if pieces are in the wrong location or not. I realize this was intentional, but the puzzle image needs to be clearer when this is done this way otherwise the difficulty or ease of the puzzle is based on how good your lighting happens to be.
