Nice wooden puzzleMay 23, 2011
By S. MARCHUS This is a really cool wooden puzzle. There are a few figural pieces, but they don't really make the puzzle any easier, because the whole puzzle has a variety of different types of interlocking surfaces that hide the connections that usually make figural pieces so easy to place. The 3-ply plywood is much more durable than the typical cardboard puzzle, but is not as sturdy as the 5 (or more) layers found in some other wooden puzzles. On the whole, this puzzle is fun to put together. It took me maybe 90 minutes on the first time. The picture provided with the puzzle is missing about a third of the image and is very small. I normally don't use the image as a reference, but for some this will be a negative. Another negative is that the puzzle doesn't come in a box. I know this is to keep the price affordable, but think it would be a good idea to offer an optional box at an extra charge so that customers don't have to do the homework to find a box of a suitable size to hold the puzzle. Even a cardboard box would be preferable to the flimsy bag that is provided.
