SubtleSep 18, 2009 This is a small puzzle which heavily relies on watching for the color variations in order to put it together properly. Nearly all the pieces are interchangeable so pay attention to the color variations. I never really liked jigsaw puzzles because I didn't like the cardboard stuff...it looked cheap etc...but on a whim I ordered one of the bigger wooden puzzles from Artifact and now i'm hooked. A world of difference when assembling a wooden puzzle.

Artifact Puzzle ReviewJul 06, 2009 This Japanese print is 81 pieces (9x9 grid) of all same-sized, almost identical interlocks. Given that pattern and the laser cutting, "wrong" fits are quite easy to make and this was quite a challenge. This is an excellent image and a clever cutting style for a puzzle. However, I would have enjoyed slightly more interlock variability since at times it can be hard to tell if you have a false fit. Some aspects of this cutting style are more reminiscent of cardboard puzzles than wooden; however, the beauty of the image made this quite worthwhile to work.

Mini Size, Maxi FunMay 28, 2009 The quality of this puzzle is excellent and the wooden pieces are very satisfying to handle. Since each piece can physically interlock with any other piece, assembly relies heavily on subtleties in color and pattern. Having multiple non-border pieces with straight edge(s) adds to the fun. You will find putting this puzzle together is great entertainment!
