A little dullJan 02, 2012
By DS My mother loves puzzles, especially the beautiful Wentworth and Artifact wooden puzzles. For the holidays we wanted a puzzle that she could do with her 7 year old great-grand son who is ready for something a little harder than a giant floor puzzle. Like all Artifact puzzles, this one is beautifully made but the pictured figures are too small and the blue background too monotonous to be very interesting. We could not get our 7 year old interested at all, but even the older generations of puzzlers found this one dull.
Our son loves this puzzle!Jun 06, 2011
By DaveA Our 3-year-old son, Thomas, is ADDICTED to this puzzle. He calls it "The ABC Puzzle," and we think he's done it at least 50 times. After a few joint sessions with Mom and Dad, he now does it all by himself! What I like about this puzzle are the big, wooden pieces - perfect for little hands. Unlike the cheap cardboard variety, this puzzle lies perfectly flat every time, and the pieces don't get damaged. The whimsy pieces (butterflies, pieces of fruit, etc.) are very artistic and fun for kids (and grownups).
The particular image on this puzzle ("Flower Girls") is a bit feminine - but Thomas doesn't know any better. It would be fun to see some "big piece" Artifact puzzles with more boy-friendly (or at least gender-neutral) themes.
We need more Artifact puzzles with big pieces!
