Lovely, Lovely Art PuzzleSep 25, 2012
By Star Tulip
I am completely not a puzzle lover. In fact, I don't know if I've ever completed a puzzle in my life, not having the patience, but this puzzle is so different than any puzzle I've ever worked that I was intrigued the moment I received it.
I read about Artifact Puzzles in a magazine and decided to give them a try. The puzzle is made of wood, has the most unique woody burnt scent that I find as aromatic as incense. The wood pieces are small and unique, swirly and so different from any puzzle piece I've seen. The pieces are small and challenging, so don't let the size of the puzzle dimensions fool you.
I realize I like the puzzle so much because of its size. It feels...intimate, like I'm surrounded by it, really immersed in it. The pieces fit well, make great connections and the art is clear and glossy. The box the puzzle comes in has a sliding lid and is made of pine, another unique touch. It all feels so carefully crafted.
The customer service is superb, too. It's been a very, very long time since I've had service like this. Now, this is odd I know, but as I completed the puzzle, it became clear that a couple pieces were missing. I knew I hadn't dropped any, so it was obvious the puzzle had come incomplete. I emailed Artifact Puzzles with a photo of the puzzle without the two pieces, and by the time I checked my email an hour or two later, I'd received a reply.
Within a couple of emails, we had a solution to my problem, one I was more than happy with. In fact, the end result was more than I expected, and I was satisfied despite the original problem. We had several emails between us, and Artifact Puzzles was prompt, professional, and ready to correct any errors.
In addition, I wanted to know particulars of other puzzles, so started asking specific questions about how hard another certain puzzle was, the type of pieces, and such, and I got full replies right away. I was deeply impressed.
In fact, I was so impressed with the company and the puzzles, that since that first puzzle I ordered in late July, I've ordered 12 more, yes a dozen more!, and every one has had all the pieces. It's weird the first one I ordered had pieces missing, but all the others were perfect.
I absolutely adore these puzzles. They are all unique, different types of pieces, sizes differ, edges sometimes are not what you expect, which makes the puzzle more fun. I can't say enough good about this company and this particular puzzle. It is my favorite of all that I've ordered because the shapes appeal to me, the puzzle is glossy (some are matte and semi-matte), and I just really like the image and colors.
The puzzle was fun to do over a bottle of wine with another person. We went until 1am, went to bed and then finished it the next morning. I was obsessed! Others have said these puzzles are addictive, and I know what they mean.

Our family loves these puzzles. We have purchased several of them for ourselves and other family memebers and are never disappointed. The shapes of puzzles pieces are just as fun as putting the puzzle together. Love them!
Artifact does not disappointFeb 28, 2014

Artifact puzzles are hands down the best. There's nothing to compare to them--they're made of wood and have beautifully interlocking pieces, many of them thematically tied to the subject of the puzzle. This one is interesting and challenging. You can't really go wrong.
